Pune : Due to the sloppy management of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), numerous roads are still getting quarried in all parts of the city. Craters are on full display on the narrow lanes of Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road, Shivaji Road, Tilak Road, Kelkar Road, Sadashiv Peth, Narayan Peth and Shaniwar Peth. The initial deadline was May 15th, but with the current rate of progress, scepticism lures whether or not the work gets completed by the end of this month.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded that the administration and contractors be held accountable for the delay and, in any case, the loss of workers' life.
"Although a year has passed, the administration over-looking the road works in Pune seem to have sworn in to continue with its sluggishness. These never-ending road excavations are exhausting the people of the city. Until and unless strict action is taken against such irresponsible PMC officers and contractors, AAP Pune team will not stop its follow-up on this serious matter", *Vijay Kumbhar*, AAP State Organizer and Pune City Working President.
